I figured I would put this in a separate thread in an attempt get the most people's opinions.
I recently crossed into Cambodia on my Canadian-registered bike with the intention of storing it for a long time - perhaps a couple of years - as I had heard that Cambodia is lax about this as opposed to Thailand.
However, when I crossed at the Stung Treng border from Laos, they instructed me to go to the customs booth first, where I had to fill a reasonably simple declaration form, and put my bike's VIN number on the back.
My question is, could there be a possibility that this will cause me issues when I try to leave the country with the bike in a couple of years? I don't intend to leave by the same border, but if they enter it in a computer system somewhere, could that catch up with me now that there is a record of my bike entering the country?
