What's wrong with the weather lately

Anyone knows what's going on? This morning I almost couldn't see the mountains which are 200 meters away.

Smog is as bad as in the burning season in April... It seems to concern not only Chiang Mai, here is a picture from a friend in Doi Tao :

Exactly 12 months ago in the blue mountains there were ragging bushfires that were the worst in a long time, 2 days ago there was 3 inches of snow.

It cleared up a bit today though, haven't seen Doi Suthep/Pui in a couple of days from my view.
