With a couple of overseas rides on my agenda (inc China) I thought I'd go to the Transport Offices on Hang Dong road (opposite airport) and apply for an International License.
The procedure is;
1 show a Thai Drivers/Riders license plus a copy front and back.
2 Show your Passport and Visa, original and copy.
3 Show your residence Certificate or yellow Residence Book or Work Permit, original plus copy.
4 Give 2 photo portraits 4cmx6cm non glossy.
Hand that in at the information desk and the nice lady will fill in the application form for you!
Hand everything in at a counter and return to collect your new license after about 2 hours.
Cost 505 baht.
(The license actually has China marked as one of the countries which is a 'contracting party', although I have been told this is no longer so.
I underlined that part in red in case I ever encountered an inquisitive Chinese policeman, but never did!)
