This is not a trip report, its a trip question, please move it if there's a better place for it.

I'm planning some rides in Northern Thailand later this year/early next year - I've done some of the rides or parts of them before but never at those times. I'm aware that crop burning takes place, illegal or not.

Where's it worst when's it worst and how bad is it? Does it spoil any of the usual ride routes - Nan Loop etc?

This site will show you the historical data if you scroll down. Yes, it can get nasty for a couple of months

Crop burning in Northern Thailand can be a concern between February and April. It's hard to say exactly where and when it will be the worst, but it can affect visibility and air quality. Keep an eye on local conditions and check with local riders for the most up-to-date info.
