Kevin's 1st ride in the curves on his new Moto Guzzi Cafe Racer, the Samoeng loop (R 1269 / R 1096) a perfect test.

Most similar bike I had was the Street Triple 675, so accompanied on that

We did the Samoeng loop the most intelligent way, enter from Hang Dong on R 1269, ride clockwise to the Mae Sa Valley Elephant Camp, then reverse the route back to Hang Dong, that way you get the most curves and don't have to deal with the eastern boring section of R 1096 and the nightmare Mae Rim traffic on R 107 south back to Chiang Mai city.

Westwards to Samoeng to R 1269 / R 1096 junction, even with only 50hp, the Guzzi had plenty of pace

Late in the afternoon, so with the sun already in the west, not the best time for photo's at the Samoeng viewpoint

1st real test & sounds like Kevin is really impressed with the retro feel of the bike and it's a keeper. Singapore, road registered it's around USD $ 17,000.

Along with the shaft drive it`s a replica of the `67 model.

Although the 2013 version of the Moto Guzzi V7 engine still retains the basic two-valve pushrod design, the upgrades (annoyingly, Europe got them last year) to the venerable air-cooled powerplant are clearly of substance. Doubtlessly, Giulio Cesare Carcano and Lino Tonti, who collaborated on the original 1967 design, would still recognize the engine as theirs.

Gorgeous cafe racer there..... love the number plate!
