Had one hour for riding today and as I was talking with people about how to get up doi suthep from another side (not the classic huay tung tao side) I decided to give it a try.

Went almost all the way but a big tree blocked the trail and I couldn't bother dragging the bike underneath so turned around, but so far it's very doable, steep rocky and full of roots but totally doable.

Forgot my cam mount, so just filmed 20seconds of the downhill with a little slow-motion (at 25% of real speed):

This is the trail and about 50m before the end I turned around for a fun downhill:

No mud it's a rocky trail. That said it doesn't mean it's easy neither. Rocks are slippery as well, and there is a lot of deep ruts between the rocks, much more than last time I poked this trail about 2 months ago with Alex. You need to keep moving cause it's pretty steep in places.
