Ride like you had a wild cat chasing ........ :ride:

Nice pictures and a good ride!
But I don't think the Huey has "crashed". It may have had a heavy landing and flattened the aft LG cross-tube. Otherwise it appears undamaged except for a "wrinkle" in the tail boom. The main rotor appears to be still intact in the grass. Maybe cannibalised a bit for parts?

Looks like its getting picked clean since i was last there, thanks for putting up your ride.

ye,landed a bit short.. you can still see the lines in the ground from sliding .the 2 military kids up the check point told me was over 10 years ago..i don-t think anyone died

must be! i thought the tracks on the ground weren-t 10 years old either..he rounded it up to a ''sip pi quaa....''

Was about 3 years ago iirc

Those skid marks on the ground are fresh, or were on December 28th last year when I was there.
That's why I mentioned to our Bob that I'd thought it had been dragged up a bit more.
Looking back at Bobs photo, it definitely is in a different position.

Plus this was the easy bit of the road then too.

Yes, it has been moved. On Bob's photo you can see that the Huey just did not make it to the landing pad - guess it came in to low and/or there was a sudden downdraft which smacked the helicopter to the ground resulting in structural damage of the body. In Bob's photo you can also see the cables which kept the Huey in place and prevented it from sliding off
