Poking around off-road on the east side of Doi Suthep

Took the KTM 300 EXC-E 2-Stroke for a blast up Doi Suthep mountain today.

The east & south sides of Doi Suthep are very steep gradients and it's hard to find an acceptable way down (unless your Darren & John). Chris & Hieko came down the other day and reported some obstructions (report on thos here obstructions-on-the-trails-up-doi-suthep-mountain-t1240.html) , looks like I took the same route down on the east side that they did, which exits at the new Government "dome" complex on R 121 (Canal Rd) south of the 700 yr Stadium.

I was lucky to stumble upon a Hmong Village celebration, wasn't expecting this up Doi Suthep , so phone camera photo's only

The easterly route down, is reasonably easy single track. They have erected a new concrete post with 13 layers of barbed wire fence running north-south from this trail towards the 700 yr stadium track, the southern end of the fence ends at position:

There is just enough space to get a bike around the end of a fence and continue down the trail

I wonder if this connects to the 700yrs stadium... That could be the solution to the new fence at 700yrs stadium.

So you go left before the construction site right?

Is that not that "Enduro Level 1" or whatever sign-marked trail up the steep hill that we tried like a year ago when I was on my Supercup bike and we kept struggling our way up for a while? The one that Dani got up on the CRF?

Not sure but if it is then it connects and wouldn't be hard as we would have to make it downhill (should give it a go uphill again as at the time we tried we were just starting riding and with different bikes).

Alex Uk sent me those to options. One is much harder than the other. Which one is the hard/easy way Alex?

South is easier, but there's a rock slope somewhere maybe 5metres which is going to be a problem for most people. Its near the top, but crosses the stream. I think it's on the south, but maybe there's a way round.North it's steeper, but you should be able to get down.
