It rained heavily in Nan for much of the night so goodness knows what it will be like offroad riding today.
Filling up with fuel this morning at the Nan Oil station that I always use up near the airport I meet the Nan village idiot, I pull up in front of a pump that dispenses gasohol 91 and diesel only for him to ask me which one I wanted.
Now I know that thinking isnt encouraged in Thai schooling but this surely takes the biscuit

Very slow progress on this, I couldnt believe how wet it was and how easily the KLX kept bogging down

This is more like it, this surface is very easy to ride on and no dust blowing around today

Hurray sussed it at last, thanks for the help Ally

Colin, glad you managed to insert it, it is well worth the effort & I am sure you agree, very simple to do.

You talk about the crazy question at the pump, I too suffer the same. This week I stopped at a pump with 3 nozzles, diesel, 95 & gasohol91.

Being a smart arse, I said,

"Gasohol gow nung demtang"

and the guy stared at me and said

"95?"

I said "Gow nung" & pointed at the green nozzle

He said

"gi baht"

But this week wasn't the only time this happens, it's 30% of the time on a bike, in a car or a truck.

Took tells me it's because A) the pump attendant is stunned/ scared by a farang speaking to them & B) because the majority of pump attendants are poorly educated and speak poor Thai themselves.

Ally

Thanks for uploading the data track files Colin. We've had rain too here in Chiang Mai, David Bailey said they had it last night in Mae Sariang as well. He was planning on a off-road trip 2-up on the BMW 1150 gs & is now reconsidering!
