We were enjoying riding unmapped trails and chucking up some dust as we went

This unexpected hazard didnt stop us from linking up with a previously explored track and creating a loop

We were within 200 metres of linking up another loop but there was no way through this and down a now non existant track

This bridge wasnt here on my last trip and made crossing this fast flowing river much easier

Marks turn to slide now
IMG_2341.jpg
My first off this trip and I think the bars are bent a bit, hopefully most of it can be fixed by twisting the forks straight when I find somewhere to poke the front wheel into and turn the bars.
I manage to fall off about four times in total in quick succession

One thing I wont be buying is the more knobbly tyres that both Mark and Bob K are using as my experience is they still get stuck like I do but they seem to cram more mud and shit around the swinging arm than my OE Dunlops do and in Marks case today the rear wheel was jamming up.
It took us a long time to get out and we were both thankful when it was back to the paved surface

Pork chops, sage&onion stuffing, roast potatoes, cauliflower, brocolli and gravy for 220 Baht at Tony's Place

We spent the night out in Laos, when the chain/sprockets got covered in mud. The only bikes we could keep going were the klx with oem dunlops

I thought it was going to happen again today

Fun ride and thanks for all the great photos Captain. I don't often ride with anyone so nice to have a couple photos of myself.

When I bought the oversized knobbies they seemed cool, I'll rethink that next tire purchase. I don't think any tire would get good grip on that surface but not locking up whilst on a steep descent would be nice.
Sorry pics are out of order.

Yesterday was the only time since, that I had this problem, and that was on the track from Mae Wang to Samoeng, which has just been graded and covered in a mix of dirt and clay, and was a challenge, coming downhill into the northern end
Any tyre would've got coated in mud, the problem is not so much mud on the swingarm, more mud in the front sprocket casing, baking hard, until the wheel will not turn
Theres no going back for me, regarding knobblies

Looks like you had a lot of fun. Great photos especially when the rain came down. How many hours was the ride?

8 hours in total but about 45 minutes of that was taking shelter from the storm
