Moto Bistro Enduro ride Chiang Mai - LMS "Dog Crying" - Doi Pui - Mae Khanin - Moto Bistro Hut

Pond asked me for a hard enduro ride up "Dog Crying" as the Thai call it. Farang's call it Last man Standing. We met up at Moto Bistro 9am on a Sunday morning to give it a go. Tried to get the three young boy fishing in the canal to take a picture on our bike but only one was game.

Just before entering the trail on the west side of the mountain. Still no signs forbidding Mountain Bike and Motorcycles at this trail head.

The terrain was steep, charred and very dry making it difficult to find traction. Especially for Pond with the small bald tire on his machine.

As always no quit in Pond, he fought his way all the way to the top.

Very steep section about half way to the LMS trail connection. Pond worked hard to get up this section...

Made it through the burnt dry side trail section to the main LMS trail. Thump was not feeling confident about going up the steep section of LMS and wanted to take the bypass. I tried to talk him out of it because last time I was on the bypass it was very overgrown making it a lot of work. Much easier to take to express route straight up. In the end I agreed and we took the bypass.

I think this is where Thump realized I may have been right All good fun we just need to jungle bash our way through a little further.

Very easy to lose the trial.

Back on the main trail going up the last steep section Pond looped his bike out and hung his bike by the front wheel on a limb. I’ve got to get a GoPro on him

Buddha Foot print trail, we took the left which take you down a single trach into a Lumyi orchard and eventually to route 1269.

WE rode up the 1269 about KM and turn in towards the Mae Khanin river single track trail. Found these guys working on their bike after swamping it in the river

Another victim of the water. They pushed it all the way to the top of the hill and bump started rolling back down.

I love the Chiang Mai Jungle bikes...

Back just in time to up the Bistro and have a couple cold ones. Great ride boys

Can't beat a bit of bush basing Jim, although in this heat it draining. Trails everywhere as dry and Gandhi's jockstrap right now, just got back from a dirt trip to Nan, fortunately, Sean @ The Crossroads had nice cold beer.....
