This is what I was shown at Chiang Mai Immigration.

I told them I didnt have or know what a TM.30 was, they asked where I was staying so I gave them my GH card which they took into another room and promptly returned and gave me the TM.30.

A building outside does the photocopying and also your photos too.

I said I dont have #5 which they said doesnt matter.

I said I dont have #7 which they also said doesnt matter.

Once I gave the completed form over I asked if I was to come back this afternoon or monday to collect it, only to be told come back next month.

I was given this with the date on which to collect the letter of residence which can be picked up by anyone with this receipt.

When I asked how much I owed I was told its free.

One thing to remember is you can only apply for the letter of residence between 8 & 10 am and its now done at Immigration at the airport

700 Baht is steep Peter, the rate varied in Chiang Mai over the years but I never paid more than 500 Baht
