Dirt west of Chiang Dao 3 X KTM 9*0 Adventure's & a KLX 250, Mar 3 2011
Riders:
Kim - 2004 KTM 950 (carb) Adventure
Nikki - 2005 KTM 950 (carb) Adventure
Phil - 2007 KTM 990 (FI) Adventure
Alex - Kawasaki KLX 250
About to leave for a day of fun - ill ask Alex to post the track as this is a great off-road route
After a quick stop for gas & water - off for some fun in the dirt west of Chiang Dao. We entered the mountain dirt area about 1km south of the Chiang Dao by-pass intersection (to the west)
Stopping for a rest
Very dry hard packed dirt, some areas sandy
Nikki having a water break
1/2 the track in most places is covered in leaves, the other half is usually exposed dry, hard packed clay
Nikki having a moment with Alex's banana
back onto the 107 near Mae Tang and a well deserved drink break
On the way back we stopped in Mae Rim to show the travelers the motorcross track in Mae Rim, managed to get a few nice photo's of the bikes together, not often you see 3 big KTM Adventures in north Thailand together.
Kim kept it quiet that he's a shit hot rider (which we found out while riding!) and took a KLX 140 around the track.
Nikki also went around on a KLX 140 perfect bike for learning motorcross - low and nimble
On the way back to Chiang Mai made a coffee stop at the tiger kingdom
Nikki with some tigers
For those who havn't been to the Tiger Kingdom before in Mae Rim - you DONT have to pay to see tigers, go to the coffee shop and you can get great shots of the tigers from there (these were taken from the coffee shop)
Taking a bath
This is what you pay 500/1,000 baht for
All in all a fun day out
