Valued Forum,
getting contradicting information if it is possible to cross into Laos on an 800 cc bike.
Some bikers and foren claim, it can be done only on bikes < 200 cc.
Well aware on the broder crossing that allow bikes to cross...
Does anyone has an update if they would let me in on an 800 GS ?
I know the boss of Touratech and his wife did it - but they play in a different league then me
Thanks
Uli

For as far as I know this should not be a problem with a big bike but smaller bikes below 250 CC might cause problems. Make sure that you are using a land crossing or a ferry crossing as people are reporting that bikes (small and large) are not allowed to cross on the bridges (to Thakheak and to Savannakhet and may be also at the new Chiangkhong to Houayxay bridge to be opened in a few weeks). The Friendship bridge from Nongkhai to Vientiane seems to be OK.
