We awoke the next morning with sore heads (some more than others) and made ready to ride to Long Cheng for Steve and Sergio it would be there first visit and would be interesting to see what they made of the place.

Decided on a slightly different approach rather than heading directly north from Thabok and decided to go via Nam Mang 3 Hydro project and meeting up at the army checkpoint on route south of Phu Bia mine. Please note THIS IS NOT a bike bike route it's extremely rocky in many areas and even the little CRF's bottomed out on several sections.
You can see the elevation picks up pretty quickly on the 262 km route.

After a short delay getting the staff to unlock the dam wall gate it was back to the almost riverbed style trail.
