ROYAL ENFIELD CLASSIC
The Chiang Mai Ulysses group had organised a charity ride today so I decided to pay my 500 baht and join them.

The money raised goes to a 'Hill Tribe' school about 30 kms south of Lamphun, where the group have already
constructed a canteen for the school. Today's ride is to go towards a planned new classroom for the school.
That is Mae Tha school.

We met at PTT on Hang Dong road.
I was first there as the plan was to photograph the bikes as they arrived.

Having missed breakfast I woofed down an adequate meal whilst waiting.

Then the bikes began arriving.
Riders introduced themselves and socialised for a while; all very friendly.

The first stage was out onto the Samoeng loop road to regroup at the 1096 junction.
We had about 16 bikes in the group, some pillion.

A new police facility is being built there.

A few scooters joined us and managed to keep up with the bigger bikes.
(The new Honda Click 150i impressed).

Happily, we had a few Thai ladies in the group.

A coffee break nearer to Samoeng.

I waited at the lookout, chatting to the tourists.

Good to see a little fruit stall there now.

The bees were busy doing what bees do.

A couple of the bikes.

This guy (Ian?) came well prepared.

Then we regrouped at the 107 junction and again along 107 before the ride through Chiang Mai to Krusty's where we socialised
and enjoyed the free snacks.

The group meets here each Wednesday night.

All in all this was a most enjoyable ride.
Perfect weather, friendly people, no dramas.
Recommend.
160 kms for me.

Nice collection of pictures Ron, your bike is embarrassingly clean you need to get that sorted out.
