probably a stupid plan but been wanting to do for a while now....phuket to cambodia to laos and back into thai.....will be going on my trusty pcx 125.
current 2nd (30 day extended) double tv runs out 3rd of august so plan to leave thailand by the 1st in case of any "issues"

plan to go upto bangkok then into cambo from aranyaprathet-poipet --- then ???? around camodia and exit at stung treng in camobo to dong kralar in laos --- ??? around laos ---- then leave savannakhet where i will get another double TV and back into thai...

think i can get (i have australian passport) 30 days on arrival at cambo and laos?? would most likely spend 2 weeks in each exploring a bit...

i will be on a pcx125 which i own and have the green book...THIS IS THE MAIN ISSUES FOR INFO - CAN/HOW DO I TAKE WITH ME. visas for me are not really an issue and all seem to agree that they are easy so not worried.

any advice appreciated - cant seem to find current info on the issues for border crossings with thai registered bike...have read lots of threads but some seem out of date so not 100% whats what and posted in a few forums with quite different replies.....

so, can i do this??!!:MJ

Craig - have a look through the topics below, you should be able to find what you need there:

In principle this is possible and it has been done before - see Buying A Motorcycle In South East Asia - Unleash Your Adventure They bought a small bike in Malaysia (legally registered on their name) and traveled through Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos without problems.

In practice things maybe different as the border officials in those countries sometimes invent their own rules and make life difficult for you (and probably others who have tried and failed). Take your time, keep smiling and eventually you will succeed. It probably will help if you get an International Travel Permit (in Thai called Passport Rot) from the Land Transport Department (where you register the bike) which basically is a translation of the green book. The Land Transport Department may say that they don't provide these anymore but try to convince them that you need it for border crossings as it will help.

Make plenty of photocopies of relevant pages of your passport, green book, ITP, etc. as at the border they like them very much and it is always a hassle to find a working photocopy machine at the borders. Border crossing documents etc, can be downloaded for free from RideAsia (at another site you will have to pay USD 9.95 for these documents).

Everything is possible, just the way they dont have firm rules it may take a few tries..

The only concern is the low CC scooter, some border officials dont like them I read. Never tried it myself.
