Super motard to Pai & the 300,000bht cappuccino machine

Approaching the end of rainy season in north Thailand, beautiful dry day, so a few of us took a super motard ride out to Pai.

One of the guys riding with us said "There's a brand new coffee place 66km's from here that I want to stop at, they have a 300,000 bht cappuccino machine". (So from Chiang Mai it's roughly a 1/3 rd of the way to Pai)

Spending that much on a coffee maker made us all very curious, so that was our 1st stop.

The place that had the super expensive coffee-maker is called the "Papae Coffee Hill & Resort". Brand new place with the resort and restaurant part almost finished.

This huge building looked fabulous, couldn't make out if it was the owners house or rooms to rent in the resort

Inside the coffee shop, looks like at 50 bht a coffee, they'll have to sell a few to get their 300,000 bht back

One of the guys with us had "Pirelli Diablo Rain" tires on his super motard bike. The grip from them even in sand and gravel corners is quite amazing. You might get 2,500-3,000km's out of them & they're about 12,000 bht a set. the compound is super-soft.

R 107 from Chiang Mai to R 1095 (road to Pai & Mae Hong Son) is very straight and dull.

A nice alternative is when heading north on R 107 from Chiang Mai, after about 14km take the left to onto R 1096 signposted to Samoeng - ONLY go about 400 meters and take the right turn signposted to Tiger Kingdom, this will take you north onto R 4026, which goes all the way north to R 1095,it's a much more interesting ride, see map below:
