I was looking for a short cut to the 1013 to Mae Win from Chiang Mai avoiding the 108 and San Pa Tong. I didn't find the short cut at first but a consolation was finding a nice loop to the north and back along the river, and a spectacular view of three large Buddah statues up on a hill. It is possible to ride to the top by taking a turning uphill a few hundred meters to the right, then right again a few hundred mts up along a gravel track. There is also a large Wat a bit further up the hill.View attachment 15271View attachment 15272View attachment 15273View attachment 15274View attachment 15276View attachment 15277View attachment 15278

And over to the left (out of camera shot) between the other temple / sala's & the eating area is a weird representation of "Hell", a bit like Wat Rong Khun (the white temple in Chiang Rai) but not half as glorious ;)
