Seems to have broken links for the 'not in your name' forms..

I am going to assume that this would be equally valid for a non Thai bike, in someones name not your own ?? Or at least worth having 'as well as' a letter of authorisation ??

Does anyone have the files for the broken links ??

And also.. Is there a sample letter text, in english, for border crossing a non Thai bike, not in the traveler's name..

Not sure about broken links as for me the links do work. However, for the zipped file of the "Letter of Authorization" look here: http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/red-tape-border-crossing-requirements/97-thailand-border-blank-crossing-documents-tm2-tm3-tm4.html#post376

and the TM2, TM3 and TM4 forms can be found here but I think that these are not needed for a foreign bike: http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/red-tape-border-crossing-requirements/97-thailand-border-blank-crossing-documents-tm2-tm3-tm4.html#post270

Not sure if a LoA is needed to take a foreign registered bike out of the country but in case you want to make one it probably should be something like the english translation of the LoA shown here: http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/red-tape-border-crossing-requirements/898-thai-reg-bike-border-crossings-bike-not-your-name.html.

OK thats great.. However the letter linked in the zip file, here

http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-...k-crossing-documents-tm2-tm3-tm4.html#post376

appears very different in layout from the example letter that appears

http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-...bike-border-crossings-bike-not-your-name.html

But having different versions of the same Thai form isnt unusual..

Also.. The linked form in the zip, opened poorly for me (margins and things pushing it off the page).. So I extracted he scanned image, flattened it back to black/white in an image prog to remove the grey hint from scanning, and embedded it into a standard google doc here

https://docs.google.com/a/seftonhan...JGe50FD6vJfAhGsyeXSg0biUxjjo/edit?usp=sharing

If the updates are useful in any way grab them, as I tend to discard google docs after a while so it wont stay hosted for everyones use forever.

Lastly.. I dont think its needed to have tax stamps for a non Thai bike ?? But on the off chance it is..

Which 'government office' do I get these from..

You can get the tax stamps at the Tax office. There is a Tax Office in Hang Domg but I don't know where but their phone numbers is 0-5344-1816

The Chiangmai Tax offices are at:

Government Center Ministry of Finance Chiang Mai, Chotana road,
Tambon Chang Phueank, Amphoe Muang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai 50300
Tel. 0-5311-2409 - 15, 0-5311-2417 - 20, 0-5311-2429
Fax. 0-5311-2416

Just a report.. Nan officials as usual all sweetness and compliance.. My 10k fine discounted to a grand.. My export.. A 'sale' in no mans land.. Re-import in another name.. No tax stamps, no problems at all..
