No rain, blue sky, Royal Enfield needing exercise and rider needing a change of scenery.
So let's get onto #118 and ad lib a ride.
First stop was Wat Phrathat Doi Saket.
The reclining Buddha is complete after a couple of years of (mostly Burmese) labour.
It just needs tidying up around the base now.
The stairway is a challenge.
Onto #118 where I acknowledged the roadside shrine.
Then off #118 onto #3005, past the Bee and Roses which was closed once again.
I hope it is not a permanent closure as this was a pleasant venue.

The road along here has has some significant improvements.
Then left at the junction with #4063.
And into the delightful twisty climbs.
There are a few fuel pumps along here.
There are some lovely old and new homes along here and a large number of cafes.
To the junction with #1252.
More excellent riding to the First Valley cafe.

Superb views on a clear day.
I was the only customer, so the sounds of chirping birds was the background.
Oh, and the occasional scream!
Very agreeable coffee.
The serve of Pad Krapow was minimal but tasty.
I asked about squirrels and was told that this tree hosts a variety of them, including what the waitress described as a black squirrel.
That's a new one to me. Must research.
I rode on for about a kilometer and discovered the source of those screams I had heard.
Yes, the King Kong Smile Zip Line!
These places are not my 'cup of tea' but I remembered that a friend from Taiwan is visiting soon and she is keen to try out a zip line,
so here it is.
OK, back along the #1252 past this magnificent mansion.
And a few land slides.
Another slightly different roadside shrine.
To this pleasant little waterfall and stream, where I stopped to take in the ambience.
Soon after I heard a 'Hello, where you from?".
So I crossed the road and this friendly young person gave me a free bottle of drinking water.
So I returned to the seat overlooking the waterfall and consumed the free water.

Then more twisties, ascents and descents (at the RE Classic 350 tempo!!) and to the junction with #118.
I have been past here hundreds of times but never stopped, so today I did.

Apparently there is a pleasant and not too long walk in here.
A fast-flowing stream.
Then along the #118 into Doi Saket to check the water level at Nong Bua lakes.

Close to home I spotted this guy with his (literally) spear gun.
He had been successful too, which is very impressive as he was firing into the canal from a 45 degree angle.
He was spearing fish that I couldn't even see!
And, innocently, he is not aware of the meaning of the sticker on his Honda.
So that was a very pleasant 104km loop.
It's good to be alive.
