Mok Fa dirt loop NNW of Chiang Mai
If you have a dirt bike, this is a great 3-4 hour ride out of Chiang Mai

4 of us went rode up there today, 3 X KLX 250's and 1 X DRZ 400 (Alex, Chris, Thijs & Phil)
Quick stop for fuel and air in the tires and we were on our way

There was a sprinkle of rain last night, but most of the trails were still dry

There's one shallow river crossing (in dry season) , not a problem at all

River crossing on a KLX 250

The trails were great, some rutted areas but not many

After a stupid fall, had an electrical problem, turned out to be the main fuse blowing, we had spare fuses so a minor inconvenience

About 20% of the Mok Fa loop is concrete or tarmac with some great views

A stop for a drink and some food at the north end of the loop

Some great views from the lunch stop and cooler in the mountains

Alex and Thijs taking a rest

Looks like there's an Eco-Lodge where we stopped for lunch, great area

Got a puncture on the 2nd half of the loop - luckily there there was a bike shop nearby , 50 bht and all fixed

Alex, Chris Thijs were pretty patient while the wheel was put back on

On the way back to R 1095 there was a great monk ceremony

Alex, Chris & thijs then headed up to Chiang Dao by dirt roads I headed back to Chiang Mai. Alex - thanks for the front tube , I have a new one here for you.
