Day 1

Time to renew my 6 month Temporary Import paper for my bike that required a border crossing and return for a new one, so headed up to Nan under threatening rain conditions. Took what I think is the quicker route from Chiang Mai, via Lampang, Den Chai, Phrae, Wiang Sa and on to Nan. All good fast roads and would avoid a lot of the mountains the Phayao way that would surely be holding rain.

Made Nan in good time so visited the new Nan Immigration Office for a re-entry stamp

No waiting here, brand new facility with airconditioning, copiers, free wifi and very courteous officers most willing to help. Good to see them actually enjoying the job rather than the pressure cooker Immigration facility at Chiang Mai

That evening off to Tony's Place opposite my hotel to pay respect to our ailing mate Tony who is doing it very tough with his health and run into my friend 2wheels Ron also from Chiang Mai/Doi Saket who was also in Nan to see Tony.

Was nice to catch up with a fellow Aussie and plan to reconvene in Chiang Mai
