Finally on the bike although briefly, gave me the chance to test out my budget cam. Cost 3000 baht plus 100 baht delivery and comes with a myriad of bit's and pieces. My thought process was, yes it's cheap but if i trash it then it's no big deal having not invested 20K plus like some of the other brand cam's.

Anyway here's a brief clip round the block at my place.

The video looks pretty good to me, especially for 3000 baht.

Further to that short video i purchased what they call a Pro 1 action cam, it's basically a copy of the Sony action cam but comes with a remote button and costs 3,300 baht. Been trying to find a suitable mounting spot so went for a short ride with it stuck to the side of my helmet with a loop of duct tape as a temp fix.

Sorry about the quality i haven't figured out how to upload to Youtube, but you get the idea.

After this ride i came up with this idea, forming up a platform to mount the unit using double sided 3M tape, pretty happy with the result being able to wear goggles etc with no problem and not in my line of sight while riding.

Here is a short clip with the cam mounted under the peak and works well. The only issue now is the cam does not auto rotate so you have to turn the image in a video editor, so far IMovie sucked and the aspect ratio looked wrong, good old Wondershare for Mac did a better job turning and cropping the image but still giving a good viewing area.

So does any of you video editing boffins know of a solution ?

Looks good Bob but my only question would be,how secure and durable is that double sided tape mount?

Well my guess i will be changing the helmet before it comes off. It's stick like shit to a blanket......:topes

The other option would be to used the 3M dual lock velcro, but it hard to find in LOS.
