Taking helmet on plane

I have read different experiences with hand carrying helmets on planes in the states. Some have no issues and some do at security screening.

I wanted to hand carry my helmet on a domestic Thai Air flight out of Bangkok.

Will I encounter any problems?

When I made my reservation I asked Thai AIr if I could carry on motorcycle helmet. She said no motorcycle only bicycle. After telling her muak motosai I got a can, can, no problem.

Never had an issue with helmets in hand luggage..
