RECALLED! Honda CB500F/X

Had problems accessing this blog but here is a bit more news from Honda recalls CB500 motorcycles over oil leak - Motorbike Writer

Owners of all Thai-made CB500 models are being asked to contact their Honda dealer to arrange for a bike inspection and the bolt replaced "as soon as possible".

The bikes affected are:

CBR500RA - MLHPC44U0D5000001 TO MLHPC44UXD5000829
CBR500R - MLHPC44U0D5000189 TO MLHPC44U9D5000773
CB500F - MLHPC44U2D5000012 TO MLHPC45U3D5000248
CB500X - MLHPC46U4D5000001 TO MLHPC46U2D5000112

Recall notices are issued by the manufacturer through a voluntary industry code under the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Despite hundreds of recalls by various automotive manufacturers, none has ever been mandatory. All have been issued by the manufacturer. While any recall is not good news for the manufacturer, it shows that they are largely diligent in fixing problems.

Maybe Honda Thailand can learn something from their colleagues from Honda Australia

The CB500R seems to have avoided the recall.

Wonder why that is?

Unfortunately that was not the problem with my CB500F, but it might be the next recall.
Unlike as in other country it seems here in Thailand you can not get any information about recalls. Not only to blame Honda but as far as I know all other brand names of cars & motorcycles. Like recalls do not occur with products made & sold in Thailand.

Just come back from a cold sunny ride in UK , spoke to a major Honda dealer today ,and his service man addmitted they had had lots of issues with CB500 models , loss of oil, head problems and gearbox seals he is steering customers to other models or makes that he sells , but Honda Uk wont admit any faults and are not currently commenting on the recall ,many customers in Uk opt for the NC700 as its not much more money here unlike Thailand
