I saw a report where motorcycles were denied crossing over to Laos. It seems as of now Huay Khon, Phu Du, and the other crossing in Xayabouri province are concerned. Just wonder if somebody did cross into Laos recently?

I was denied entry on a mountain bike a week ago. But have since been told it is only the crossings in Xayabury province.

Not 100% sure but according to a Facebook post some Thai motorbikes crossed into Laos at the Phu Du to Ban Pakeo/Paklay border crossing (Xayaboury province) on 29 July.
Something similar happened a few years ago when, after a motorbike accident involving foreign bikers, the Lao authorities closed the border posts for motorbikes. After some time they were opened again and it looks like that something similar is happening now again. However, for the time being it will be a bit of a "hit and miss" affair with some border crossing being more flexible than others.
