I was at Bahnstormer early in the morning to get the bike

This felt a bit higher than the test bike I rode in December, I cant imagine the test model had the lower seat on it, more likely I am a lot fatter now and my bulk has compressed my legs

Once away I rode home first to have my lunch and put some soft handlebar grips on the bike

Then it was out to visit the source of the river Test

The boat is still there but no paddles otherwise I could have rowed down to where it joins the sea

Rather choppy here, its a lovely sunny day and I am hot once stopped with so many layers on but on the bike the wind chill factor is felt through all the layers

The lake is overflowing and the Test is flowing out from its origin

The country lanes that the GS will hopefully mainly live on
IMG_7094.jpg
Lots of water flowing through the fields now

I walk down a dirt track to see the Test downstream a bit, I wasn't going to risk getting the GS stuck in there on its maiden voyage

The Test flowing through the fields, the boat at the origin wouldn't be able to get past here

Along a country lane I observe this gentleman sorting through those broken paving slabs while sitting in his motorised vehicle.
I stopped to see if he would like some help lifting them but we couldn't find what he was looking for, he is 90 years old and still out in his garden pottering around doing things.
Its a shame some of todays youngsters don't take a leaf out of his book

Its a Friday and I seem to meet a few elderly people out on my ride

Care is needed as the last weeks rain means the back roads are still wet in places

We all managed to squeeze through eventually

Running in was up to 6000 rpm but I doubt I hit 5000 rpm today, the bike pulls well at lower revs and these back lanes are great for breaking the engine and gearbox in as I was constantly changing gear

Spring in the UK is beautiful when its a nice sunny day

I clocked just over 90 miles today and look forward to more riding when its nice weather

Beat me to it by a few days Colin! Eventually got out today, a bit chilly but enjoyable trundle round the New Forest. KTM only starts moving by 5k rpm but I'm getting used to the buzziness, unlike the modded CRF and love the way it takes off like a scalded cat with plenty of power for overtaking when necessary.KTM on Brock Rd 1.jpgKTM on Brock Rd 2.jpg

I sometimes ride down to the New Forest Tim, its fun riding there apart from the low speed limit

Good to see you out and about Tim.
And what a delightful area to be riding.
