Municipality to launch new tourist information desk
The Chiang Mai Municipality is readying a new tourist information center on the west side of the Nawarat Bridge intersection. Mayor Tussanai Buranupakorn visited the center as workers prepared the building for opening in March. “Chiang Mai Municipality is now 95% ready to launch the service,” the Mayor reported. “This service is very important for travelers, the office will be adequately staffed and the Tourist Police will also man the office to help visitors with security and safety. There will be a rotating exhibit of OTOP products which should help stimulate the economy as tourists are exposed to the many good handicrafts in Chiang Mai.”
