New speed cameras around Chiang Mai

Looks like they're shooting front plates, so bikes won't be hit.

Not sure if these are all the speed cameras on the 118 but they are located at Km. 15+600 (90 km. / hour) and 80 Km./hour at Km. 21+700, Km. 35+800, Km. 43+050 and at Km. 50+400 according to this picture.

I blasted past them on 118 coming back from Nan yesterday, at least 2 have reader boards that flash your speed.
I saw 121 and 118 kph which seems kind of slow.

Past them today and they all show my speed +/- 2 km/h .
But this are not the one taking your Photo , the Speedcameras are always a few km later installed .

Watch the rectangular boxes on poles 6-8 m over the road . spot at leased 3 of them .

Just to update, if you are travelling on the 118 from Chiang Rai there are 5 cameras, forward facing as you approach Chiang Mai (so no problem on a bike) not sure if heading back the opposite way if they will detect you and get your rear plate or not. Lot's of warning, 1km from each is a speed sensitive matrix displaying your speed to give you a heads up. Below are the waypoints of each of the five i noticed today you may want to save them in your GPS.

Cam 1 N19.05729° E99.35890°

Cam 2 N19.01821° E99.30710°

Cam 3 N18.97832° E99.25706°

Cam 4 N18.89911° E99.19213°

Cam 5 N18.87858° E99.14292°

Bad news of the day... Does this mark the end of an era of freedom? :cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry:cry

I rode yesterday (24 Feb) from CM to CR and I didn't even see the speed sensitive matrices :-) Just fitted new tyres, so not too fast (I think 555)
Thanks for info, goes into GPS ;-)
