Friend Derek sold his big 1150RT and downsized to a new NC750X as his birthday gift to himself.

Big Wing initially didn't have the preferred blue colour ....... and then they did!
The usual translation and misunderstanding re insurance and accessories occurred but eventually the documents were
signed and the bike was ready to ride away.

The functions were explained.

79455

And the bike was ready to go.

79456

Derek's first stop was here, where a few accessories were to be fitted.

79457

79458

Such as bars and lights.

79459

Light switch.

79460

Panniers and top box (soon to be colour co-ordinated).

79461

Rear hugger.

79462

USB.

79463

Radiator guard.

79464

Centre stand.

79465

And he has put a patent on this shock protector.

79466

OK, all set for a group ride on Sunday.

We met at the junction of 1317 and 1014.

79467

79468

We headed out through Mae On to the Tarn Thong resort.

79469

The new 750X made it.

79470

Dave's Harley Davidson.

79471

Steve's Triumph.

79472

Ed's Vulcan.

79473

And my little Rebel 500.

79474

Derek and his birthday shirt.

79475

So we settled at a quiet table and a couple of lads arrived and took our food and drink orders.
Coffee and drinks arrived.
Some twenty minutes later a group of Chinese tourists arrived and eventually a Chinese speaking waiter
took their orders. (You can anticipate where this is heading!)
Another twenty minutes and the Chinese order was delivered to their table.
Ours wasn't. We agreed to wait a few more minutes.
We waited then cancelled. Lousy 'service' at Tarn Thong.
However, we knew where a barbeque was to be served later that afternoon.

So I had a bit of a walk around the garden.

79478

79479

79480

Then back onto the 118.

79481

And a snack stop at Terminal 118.

79482

79483

Apparently the food was OK but their coffee is appalling.

79484

We then headed in to Riders Corner, where a barbeque was prepared and we watched Moto GP races.
Excellent bbq; glad I waited.

Dear Auke overlooking proceedings.

Yummy.

79487

Exactly 150 kms.

The only issue with the NC750 was to do a front brake lever adjustment.
So far, so good.
Another small ride happening today.

Nice report, Ron. That Honda looks fantastic... even better in the flesh.

Now.... might I point out, Pim is one of only two staff members who can stand on the bar and not hit the roof with their head. She's managed to significantly upgrade the sound system now... and knows the intricacies of the various HDMI ports. As a multi-skilled staff member, she's off today furthering he training. As of tonight, we will have six certificated Baristas on staff. We'd like to think that our coffee is consistently among the best in town.....

The Honda again.... dominating the lineup of bikes here for the Ulysses ride we did on Friday.

79491

And I'm glad you enjoyed the races - it being a rare bonus to get a Superbike race straight after the MotoGP

79492

and the new layout seems to be working well here

A diabolical liberty on the part of Mr. Two Wheels not to Mention a darned cheek but I did like the Tee shirt, Thankyou Ron. If anyone has some recommendations for paint shops to get my boxes painted I would like to hear them.

Welcome to Ride Asia Derek.
Now we can follow your adventures on the NC750 (named 'Bluey')?

Methinks a better name would be "Red"

Welcome? may i congratulate you on your purchase, i understand Andre in Chiang Rai bought your bike and is doing a complete resto on the bike.

OK, to be fair I should provide an update after our unpleasant experience at Tharn Thong. (read above)

I wrote to the owner (Khun Prim) explaining what had happened.
To my pleasant surprise she replied to my email, explaining how the bad service occurred, apologized for it and offered us a 40% discount if we visit again!
