Plugged my Montana into my computer the other day to update it with a route and Basecamp informed me that there was an update, so I accepted and c/o the update. I wanted to create/plan a route while in Nan yesterday and found it impossible due to the length of time it took to scroll to different areas of the map. Anyone else had this problem after updating? Ive got Software Version 4.60 and using Thailand Street Map V12.01NT. I dont use the Montana too much and I dont remember it being this sluggish before the update.

Johhny,

Try to re-update the software again as something might have gone wrong during the update process.

Thanks for the advise LR

I re-installed the software and it seems to have made a difference however im still not convinced the map refresh rate is as sharp as it was before. Ive added a quick video below so you can see what im now seeing. Yesterday it was just so unusable I gave up.

Yours is actually scrolling much quicker than mine

Just looked at your video Johnny & it's about the same speed as mine when using the Aus Topo maps.

About the same as my Nuvi.
Enjoy Nan,spent a couple of days out and about there last week.
The new bar soi was very quiet compared to last time there...maybe too cold for the local lassies?

Ok thanks chaps, hopefully that re-install has got it back to normal

Johnny while you're sitting around doing nothing, try this.
I just found it while resetting everything for the Aussie season.

Set Up - Map - Map Speed - Fast

No idea if that's what it's for but it can't hurt to see.

I'm no expert but what about just disabling the maps your not using so if your in Laos just have the Loas map running ?

Johnny not sure what maps you have loaded but found this when I was searching for why the Montana deemed a bit slow.

People report that the WW DEM (Digital Elevation Model) map needs to be on, or else searches take longer. I have no problem keeping the DEM map on in addition to any other. It supplements other maps, it does not duplicate or conflict with them.
