Not many pics as I just intended to potter around the dam and checkout the bridge which might be of interest to some. Once I had negotiated the 'offroad' bit, Phrao seemed like a logical destination. The roadside shacks on the run into Phrao didn't look too enticing for lunch and the last time I went into town I ended up spending the entire meal fighting to keep the flies off my food so I tried a new coffee shop. I usually find they just sell drinks and sweet treats so normally pass them by, glad I didn't, this was a really nice cool quiet place with a full menu at near roadside shack prices. Definitely on the list for my next trip in that direction.

The bridge. I thought it was bikes only but the number of trucks coming down the trail the other side throwing up clouds of chocking dust along with a height bar on the other span makes me wonder. OSM note: 'it might be just wide enough for a car. But not sure they will allow it. But with two bridges, one each direction it is a bit much for motorcycles only.'
The 'no offroad before new tyres' went out the window;-) I wouldn't want to do it on anything much bigger than the CRF, quite steep and very loose - OSM description -'smoothness - very_bad'
Back to hard surface - sort of!
Last time I came this way this bit was brown and parched, now it's cool and green.
