Another low mileage local tour again today, I take the 118 out of town and between the outer ring road and Doi Saket I take a left onto the 3012

A lot of this is new for me today, I have spotted a couple of reservoirs on the GPS that I want to visit
DSCF1630.jpg

First one is the Huai Klang reservoir
DSCF1631.jpg

DSCF1632.jpg

Almost totally full
DSCF1634.jpg

DSCF1635.jpg

I see a dirt track at the end of the reservoir heading south and take it to join up with a track heading west, but things dont always go to plan
DSCF1636.jpg

I am now riding in the bed of the overflow
DSCF1637.jpg

I manage to get through that alright
DSCF1638.jpg

Then realise that the irrigation canal is between me and the dirt track I need to be on so theres nothing else to do but go back
DSCF1639.jpg

Riding back up through the narrow singletrack
DSCF1640.jpg

I ride back past the reservoir then turn right onto the dirt track
DSCF1641.jpg

DSCF1643.jpg

This is a relatively easy track and a pleasure to ride
DSCF1644.jpg

Now at the Huai Cho reservoir

DSCF1649.jpg

The asphalt of the 5257 stretches further north so I ride to investigate
DSCF1651.jpg

DSCF1653.jpg

Its lovely and scenic along here
DSCF1659.jpg

Riding past the reservoir a temple can be spotted in the hills
DSCF1660.jpg

I reach Wat Tam Phra at N18.56.696 E099.04.209

I counted 84 steps up there and it nearly killed me, I walked up only to find others had driven up, oh well you live and learn

Now for some lovely shade through the trees
DSCF1695.jpg

Now back to the 1001 and home, its a rare ride for me today, 65 photos but only 63 km.
You dont have to ride 100s of km to have a good day out and theres always new finds on the doorstep
DSCF1697.jpg

Now to give the KLX its first wash, its covered 12400 km and lots of that was on dirt.
Its in for a service tomorrow so its best the mechanics can see the bike

DSCF1700.jpg

DSCF1701.jpg

Now its lighter it should go better

120 Baht for this all day breakfast including coffee or tea and orange juice, normally I could eat two of these but this is the first proper meal that I have eaten since friday due to illness and I really struggled to eat it.
Oh to get my legendary appetite back

You can get the gdb file from my website here … http://www.captainslash.com

Nice ride there Colin, don't think I have done that temple so will defiitely look that one out to do.

Didn't know you were tom & dick, was it that spicey food you had with your friends the other night?

Ally

I knew you would enjoy todays trip Ally and want to visit that temple.

It was friday nights food that caused the problem and I will be asking the owner if something extra was put in it as he had his sly grin when I left, I will be eating there again this week as I will get a personal stromboli made if I ask for one

Glad to hear you're feeling better Colin, 12,000 km already on the KLX250 in 6 weeks - Ally's way off speculating on 43,000km by the end of Feb.
