Another Ghost Town

I like the spontaneous, short local rides. No plans, no set destination, no time constraints.
Today was such a day.
It was so spontaneous I forgot to take my camera, condemning me to use the camera in my mobile ‘phone.

There’s lots to see around the Doi Saket area.
Here’s what I saw today during a few hours and only about 50 kms.

This private property sure has good security.

The Temple at Mae Pong.

Also in Mae Pong a new Temple being built.
Wat Mon Pawana.

Then I stumbled upon a ghost town.
It had great intentions in a nice area beside the mountains but looks like they hit financial problems.

Then the rain poured down and I scrambled for shelter in this little restaurant.
From previous visits I know the food is good and inexpensive and the owners are friendly.
Eg noodle soup only 9 baht with free water!

They have a lake brimming with fish too.

I soon had company.

Meet 'Fanta'.

Back towards Doi Saket I noticed, just off the road, a new Church or Mission has been constructed. Appears to be done by Korean missionaries.

Then the rain went away and for a brief moment the sun shone to top off a nice little ride.

Good to see this Ron but what a funny colour sky you have, here in the UK its nonstop blue sky with a big shiny hot thing up there every day

So many of these failed project around Thailand, one would think they secured the funds before starting construction but may I'm thinking too laterally.
