27-10-18 Chiang Mai, New Paved And Unpaved Tracks Off The 3009 Day 2

Distance 110 km

Riding north out of the city on the quieter scenic road that follows the Ping river

Most of todays offroad stuff was dry like this track

Lots of bikes that I saw today either had a trailer or a sidecar

I made a mental note not to upset her as she was quite handy with that machete

This track is getting overgrown but its also getting close to linking up with a track I was on yesterday

It finishes here and there is no way to get to the bridge

So close but I cant get to it

I ride back and stop in the shade by this bridge for my lunch

Suddenly I have company

She cuts a long thin bamboo and rides off with it down towards the dead end

This bike has a massive amount of ground clearance, I guess its been modified

Looks like the bikes owner has caught a small fish

A bit of a logjam at the weir

Quite what that km marker was doing out in the woods virtually at the end of a dead end track I do not know

Super friendly dogs

If you could read Thai you would see the km marker says ส้มตำ Som Tam 35 baht and
ไก่ย่าง Roast Chicken 15 baht!

You missed a cheap restaurant by that track.
