Although shown as a concept Yamaha have confirmed this Tenere variant will go into production 2018, if it comes off its sure to be hard to beat if they keep it lightweight as early signs indicate.

Sweet bike! Would be perfect with 200 less cc. A 700cc can't be that light and if going off-road there is not much use of any power above a 500cc bike anyways.

If you want to ride from say Europe to Asia, ideally you want 600-700cc so that bike will cruise at 120 km/hr without straining and still nimble enough for some off-road stuff. There is no perfect solution but thats about as close as you can get.

May be a T3 based on the R/MT-03? Not for going from Europe to Asia but for Thailand.
