Saw this in Ponsovan, Laos. think it is a Minsk twin 2 stroke, with a Ural sidecar. Any ideas on the engine size?

I think it is a Jawa. Used alot by the police in Vietnam at least in Hanoi 15 years ago. I had a Minsk and the kick starter was on the right side.

Looks like an early- to mid-80's Gold Wing to me.
Yep..... 1981 GL1100 Interstate Limited. Hopefully a terrific project.

Owned a couple of GL1000's in the UK "back in the day" and always lusted after one of these...... she doesn't have quite the sex appeal she had for me 30 years ago as I now pilot a H-D Ultra, but she still has a helluvalot going for her!

Have fun with it. Those engines can be made to look really nice.

Personally I would love to find a CBX1000 - the inline 6-cylinder bike made from '78-82 - as a project bike, but there aren't many of those around (which is part of the reason I want one).
