I just posted this question on Advrider.

Waterproof Boots in the Tropics. Practical ? - ADVrider

Decided to post here as well given this is the Tropics

My location is Cambodia which is typically hot and humid.

I ride day and multi day dualsport trips, current bike KTM500

I'm after some new dualsport boots and have been recommended non waterproof boots like the Gaerne SG10s, Forma Terrain, and TCX X Desert.

On the waterproof side the recommendations are the Forma Adventures and Alpinestar Toucans (goretex)

All are dualsport boots and relatively comfortable according to the reviews.

My question
Are waterproof boots practical for hot climates.
Just wondering if the waterproofness makes them uncomfortably hot.

Wet feet verses hot feet ?

Interested to hear from those that have used waterproof boots in hot climates.

I can't imagine the latest high spec Waterproof boots being much hotter than non waterproof unless they have extra insulation for colder climes. If they are Goretex or similar they should breath a little I would have thought.

Waterproof Socks (Sealskin) work well if your not wading.
