There are many quarries out Doi Saket way and given the recent heavy rain over a few weeks
I thought it might be interesting to go looking for them.

I rode out north of Doi Saket for a few kms and turned left down a track in the foothills.

This track went past this attractive restaurant (Pha Pong Steak) at

It is secluded and quiet enough to hear the birdies in the trees.
Friendly staff too.

Once again there was no plan to my riding and I took narrow dirt tracks to find a couple of flooded quarries like this one.

This elaborate Spirit House caught my eye.

So I crossed over #118 and rode some more tracks and discovered this very elaborate Resort at Cheong Doi.

There’s about 10 homes there of varying size and I was not confronted by a security guard during my 20 minutes there taking photos.

I never did find a name for this impressive place (which needs a bit of maintenance).

Then more ad-lib zig-zagging around the area north of Doi Saket to this sign ….

… and a small Methodist Church.

More tracks and then I spotted ‘my friend’ Wat Phrathat Doi Ku from from a few days ago but this time from a better angle.

Through the lens I noticed a rocky outcrop to the right so zoomed in for a closer look.
This could well be a caving location.

To the lakes at Nong Bua and some of the tracks that shoot off away from the lakes and
I found this impressive looking residence hiding behind the undergrowth.

It impressed me so I sought out a good angle ….

And the two dwellings are for sale and are directly opposite this impressive lake at

Back towards #118 and another attractive and full lake.

I then called in to Inthanin Coffee at the Bangchak petrol station on #118 just north of Doi Saket where I spotted this promotion.

So, being a self appointed taster for honorable subscribers, I ordered a DURIAN LATTE!!
Not too bad but I wouldn’t jump the queue for another one.

That was another very enjoyable few hours and the bonus was that the rain didn’t commence until 5 minutes after I arrived home!

Life is good.
