Visa Fees

Apparently these are the current fees for a 30 day Visa on arrival.

As an Aussie, I don't mind the $US30 fee but what has always puzzled me is why fees vary according to ones nationality.
Anyone know why?

Thats puzzling Ron, you would have thought one price for all would apply as theres not exactly any more work undertaken to issue it

Yep, it seems weird Captain.
Last time I crossed I was with a Canadian friend and she was not impressed having to pay $12 more than I.
Yes, I've written to Laos about it but .... guess what?! :RE

Anyone know why the variance?

As a Canadian I'm thinking WTF! I thought everyone loved us. What did we do?

Same thing when crossing into Turkey, I was with two Irish guys they paid 20 Euro... I paid 60!!! Canadians where once again the highest on the list.

It's often variable due to the reciprocal arrangements offered by the opposing nation.

And I guess that, having built a couple of bridges for Laos (including the Nong Khai Friendship Bridge), Aussies receive a discount.
