MotoGP psychology coach, Anouk Marchand, presents the prizes to the Superbike SB1 winners

Panadda Racing made a welcome return to Thailand Circuit after a two month media campaign for the disqualification of ‘Tingnote’ Tithipong Warakorn’s R2M Thailand SuperBike championship rival, ‘Stamp’ Apiwat Wongthananon, and made their mark where it counts by winning Round 4 of the series with a strong performance.

While it was the 17 year-old Elf Smart Honda rider who took pole position, it was Tingnote who led from the start from Stamp and Saksit Senakhan’s ASK Stage Honda, with the chasing pack led by Stamp’s teammates, ‘SuperBird’ Saen Choisak and ‘The Bell’ Aekkachai Chiengwong. Stamp made a clean pass for the lead on lap two, but Tingnote kept the pressure on his young rival and got back into the lead on lap four and put the hammer down to put some clear track space between the two of them, recording a fastest lap of 1:22.990 in the process. Saksit was around two seconds behind of Stamp, but running a good lap times in the 1:23s.

Stamp maintained his pace in, while Saksit, who was being caught by SuperBird, raised his game to close up and make a three-way battle for second during the last two laps. At the chequered flag it was Tingnote with a three second gap over Stamp, with Saksit taking the final podium slot 0.6 seconds ahead of Superbird.

Tingnote was clearly delighted to re-establish his racing credentials and take a two point lead in the championship, while Stamp praised his bike and blamed himself for feeling the pressure in the race. Saksit was pleased with his return to form, while veteran SuperBird was happy with his own performance as well as those of his protégés, including The Bell who finished fifth in only his second SuperBike race ahead of SB1 debutant ‘Kob’ Choloenkiet Sae-Deow’s BMW.

Behind them, Mickey Walker, managed to take the SB2 class win despite being troubled by the broken left wrist he sustained in July, ahead of Choosak Thavornkuldej’s who somehow took his 2001 PK Superbike Suzuki GSX-R 1000 second place and Gaven Purisma’s Honda, with Usawin Kongthonpaisan’ Suzuki in fourth .

Benjamin Fortt continued his steady progress, riding comfortably in the 1:29s to take the SB2 fifth place on his CEA Suzuki GSX-R1000 ahead of Narinchai Sisinroj’s Suzuki and the Kawasaki of John Hughes, who was struggling with a back injury.

The SuperBike circus moves to Bira for the next two rounds of the combined R2M/Motorcycle Mag Championship series, with the next one being on 24-25th September.

Well done ting note for rising above the pandemonium of recent weeks and putting in a stellar performance and a convincing win. I met him in the hotel restaurant saturday night and he seemed very relaxed and confident about the race...
How long will it be before the young pretender can find the fitness and strength/experience to match ting notes race pace?? I guess we will find out in the very near future :RO
