Please follow the link for a "green" (not Kawasaki) motorbike. I reckon that this in a slightly different package (and some more engineering perhaps) would be totally viable as a town run around -may build one myself...

I wouldn't want to ride that with shorts on the, the calorific value of steam is nasty

Actually what it needs is a condenser for the steam to cool off and liquefy and then be pumped back into the heater -that way you don't need to add extra water as you will not run out, you save energy as the water you pump back into the heater is already close to boiling temperature and you don't have that nasty steam on your legs...

Come on Phil -let us see you make a steam driven DRZ, you can combine it with the trailer in the other post for carrying enough coal to take you to Laos and back!
