A quick shakedown ride was needed for the 2 KTM 990 ADV's to test them for an upcoming big trip, what better than to head for the Charin Cake restaurant just south of Chiang Rai on R 118.

Some nasty black clouds overhead heading north on R 1001 and a quick sprinkle, but after that we missed all the squalls

Was thinking all the way up R 118 which cake to have when we got there..

The banana cream pie it was & a good choice

Coconut cream pie for Som

Thai food there looks pretty good too - look at that perfectly cooked egg

If you're looking for a day loop out of Chiang Mai, this is a good one.

Awesome! I want to eat that cake , May i have GPS position of Charin Cake ?

Route 1150 , Is there good condition? I was almost ride on this route from Cheing-rai but time was up to cheing-mai. I won't to miss my flight back to BKK.
