Temporary import warning !!

Never had this issue before and not sure if you can ask for additional days when you cross into Laos, but my temp import was only valid for 15 days for my motorcycle. I got stung for 40 dollars or 300k kip for 5 days overstay, even though i had a 30 day visa.

Chong Mek/Vang Tao give you 30 days without asking but Friendship Bridge (I) only gives 15, even if your visa is for 30 days. Last time I requested 30 days and was given it there.

The permit you posted, under the 'Limitation Using' section states that you are only permitted to use your bike within the province, not the entire country, so watch out for that one too!

I always ask for 30 days and never had a problem with that

Which person do you ask?
Is that at passport control or the when doing the bike paperwork?

Can someone write down "Can I please have 30 days" so it can be saved on my phone.
