So the Versys WINS by a small margin? and should have a good fuel range with its 4.5 gallons tank.

Personally I went for the BMW over the Versys for a few reasons, cast wheels with tubeless tyres, a lower revving single over a screaming twin and I don't like a tall windscreen either.
The Versys is probably a nice bike but its just not for me.

.... and the Versys seat is made of concrete!
That, of course, can be remedied.
