I believe the next event is on at Seacom Square in Bangkok around mid July. The Kawasaki track day seems to cater for all levels, if anyone would like to join and enjoy.

Mark,

Thanks for the updates and the pictures. What happened with the misjudgement at the 3 hr. race?

Lone Rider

Awesome photos Mark. The ER6 racing looks great.
Another top result for the Spanker, nice one.

Looks like great fun..

Such a shame theres not a track up north.. With all the riders up here you would think it would be as viable.

Auke, I believe when equating the time into distance, dividing the distance to be traveled by the suggested KSR economy in kilometres per liter, than measuring the capacity of the fuel tank, averaging lap speeds and then estimating how many 2.68 km laps the motorcycle can complete on one tank of gasoline a undisclosed distance and time was estimated .
It was then not taken into account the altitude on the far side of the Kaeng Krachin circuit, nor was the relative humidity at 2pm, nor the specific density of the 100 octane race fuel causing a inaccurate estimation of the undisclosed distance possible to travel.
OR
they might have just forgot to refuel in the excitement.

LivingLOS Hold your breath, I beleive there is a proposal for a Chiang Mai track in the pipeline as we speak.

The first possibility makes my head spin so I'll assume that the second possibility is a more likely reason for the misjudgement :D

Thanks for the report Mark, it was an awesome few days. Cant really beat track days for the equivalent of a tenner and in mostly beautiful surroundings and weather.

The next one as Mark says is in mid july( 16th) and is followed immediately by the supernaked series Round 2 at Nakhon Chaisri.

The KSR fuel incident I think is easiest explained by the teams failure to take into account Mr. Dtam's recent stomach size fluctuations, the self styled " playboy gangbang " man of chiang mai's diet of fags, booze and women was in stark contrast to his team mates 45kg frame. Im reckoning he was using a fair bit more fuel than the other dude and perhaps they failed to take this into account...!!

Thanks again for the photos,
The Whacko

Talking today, I think a few of us are planning to go down for the mid July event Mr. Spank & maybe stop in to see Jason's new venture while we're down there.

Great to see the boys having fun on the bikes.

Mark the pics are awesome and lovely to see the Husky getting loose into the corners, it looks a hoot.

Spank what was the gap to Colin crossing the finish line? Also how is the bike tuning going for the next round?

crossing the line was probably over a second, maybe nearly 2. was a lot closer in the race though.

Bike tuning is minimal, maybe a quick overhaul.
Rider tuning I think is more appropriate and that is being worked on....!!!

Re: R2M Super-Naked & SuperSport 600 Championship 2011 Round 2, Thailand Circuit

Luke

I wrote the same below post to Tony on GT Rider.

I note that different race meetings are held under different titles and at different circuits.
This is Thailand so I can't imagine it is the same as Australia. In Australia there is one FIM associated controlling body. There is second controlling body however it is not recognised by the FIM yet.
To race in Australia you must first pass certain testing by a racing club member who is approved by the controlling body, plus the club must be registered with the controlling body.
As I mentioned above, in Australia here are two controlling bodies that have their own rules and regulations so you can obtain two licenses so you can race in meetings sanctioned by either of these controlling bodies.
Grading is applied to the type of license you hold from a D grade up to a super license for international racing. The licence must be renewed every year.
Can you tell me the Thai system in relation to racing in Thailand? Does one need a MSAT competition license issued in a similar way as I described above? If a MSAT racing license is required what are the conditions. If not how does it work?
