Sounds like it was pretty hassle free. Shipped from LA, California, USA to Bangkok & cleared through Thai Customs with use of a Thai Customs broker/ agent in about 4 hours.

Now on it's way to Chiang Mai, ready for a China tour to the Tibet border.

Temporary import validity for how long, Phil? If going out of Thailand (e.g. Laos), then another importing process from US to Laos?

I think it cost around usd $ 1, 000 all in incl. crate to get it to Thailand and 7, 000 bht today for the customs broker to get it cleared by Customs

Correction, now back in Chiang Mai, the crating & trf to the port in CA, USA was USD$ 860 alone, total cost getting it to BKK was USD$ 2,300

Lucky the Hilux is long enough.
Don't know for how long my Vietnamese plate bike could be there in Thailand.

Your bike with Vietnamese plates can be kept in Thailand for 6 months. Only problem is that when you cross the border with the bike and then go back to Vietnam without the bike, you may have problems. Depend much on how and if the computer systems of the immigration and customs are linked here in Thailand as your passport number/name may appear on the temporary impost papers.

hi phil, any recommendations for airfreight agents in Kathmandu/bangkok for shipping a bike to bangkok, thanks.
