ROYAL ENFIELD CLASSIC
19th October 2025

Last night RE Chiang Mai held an event to announce the arrival of their Classic 650 Twin.
I went along together with around 30 other bikes and some 50 riders.

Three colours available.
Sure is a handsome (but heavy) bike, which sounds wonderful.

This chrome and black is the popular choice and is a bit more expensive than the other two colours. (details later)

I had a look at what other bikes were inside the shop.

This Himalayan 450 would be my weapon of choice if still living and riding in Oz.

It was an enjoyable night, shared by people with a common interest.

We had a private preview the day before... and met some of the RE head office personnel. We were most impressed by the hospitality. Our entire experience with that dealership has been excellent to date.

I could, but probably shouldn't, compare it to another experience that has been the polar opposite. I won't name the other manufacturer.... but when we tried to place a seven figure order at 4:40pm, we were told to come back another day as they would be closing soon... and then, the next day... no, everyone is at lunch, come back later.... and then.... and then..... As, I said, polar opposite to our experience with Royal Enfield in Chiang Mai.

We went back on the Saturday and test rode the Himalayan 450 and the Hunter 350 and bought a couple of each, which are now in the hire / tours fleet. The 350 is a bit small for me, but we buy them for our customer needs, so.... here's our bikes

Very interesting, thanks for your comment mate.
Most of us know who you are referring to!

I imagine your Himmy 450 will be a popular rental.

I might have a comment to make about RE Ch Mai after sales service soon. Wait and see.

We're going to run them and the Transalps up Doi Suthep tomorrow to grab a couple of photos. I think we will be running them in ourselves, as first service is at 500km.... and rather than send them out on an extended trip that misses that, better to get it over with early.

No probs. My misunderstanding.
So what are your impressions of the various new bikes about your brief time on them?
