R 1095 to to still a roadworks mess - alternative route

With extensive roadworks on R 1095 east of Pai, its turned one of the most fun riding roads into a nightmare

An alternative way is to go to Samoeng and take the small sealed road north , which will bring you out at Pa Pae on R 1095

You will cut out a bunch of the roadworks going this way

...and fewer of the cursed 'Silver Vans' clogging the road and heading straight for you overtaking on blind bends!

A quick update on R 1095 (MHS loop road) around Pai as of 5th January, 2016. There is construction west and east of Pai.


The road is still pretty bad but has improved from the last report, as there are some finished sections.

I headed up this road today, was great until about 33kms east of Pai..and then only a few kms of actual roadworks here and there. Great riding on the new sealed sections.

Will find out whats in store heading west tomorrow.

Had a drive on the 1095 to Pai yesterday and gotta say they have done a great job with the upgrading. Nice and wide in areas if the shit hits the fan!

Im pretty sure the Silver Bus drivers will be thinking the same so watch out for those numpties taking racing lines around blind corners!!!!!
